The community is invited to a fundraising luncheon that is being planned for Heaven’s Kitchen-Harrisburg.

Heaven’s Kitchen-Harrisburg began serving free Tuesday evening meals in downtown Harrisburg on Sept 11, 2018, thanks to the volunteer efforts, prayers and financial support of the community. In 2019, an average of 175 people were fed each Tuesday night. With over 10,000 people coming through the doors since the first night, comes a lot of expenses to continue serving a full meal free weekly and this where the community can help. A fundraising luncheon is being held on Sunday February 23rd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church Annex building at 21 West Locust Street in Harrisburg. A delicious home cooked meal will be served consisting of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, roll, dessert and drinks. There is no suggested per-plate donation amount, donations will be accepted at the door. Carryouts will be available. Those who dine in will also get to enjoy the wonderful musical entertainment of ET Everett of 3 Angels Broadcasting Network. Heaven’s Kitchen operates as a committee established by the Fowler Bonan Foundation, and has no administrative costs. Going forward, Heaven’s Kitchen hopes to continue with program expansion, including adding programs and services on Tuesday nights, embracing even more volunteer groups, and raising funds for updated kitchen equipment.
