4-H News – Nancy Lambert – 4-17-19 4-H Public Presentations Contest Results

Saline County 4-H members participating in the 2019 4-H Public Presentations contest pause for a picture with their ribbons following the event.

The Villas of Holly Brook in Harrisburg hosted the 2019 Saline County 4-H Public Presentations Contest. 4-H members and their families enjoyed the wonderful speeches, demonstrations and food demonstrations that our 4-H youth exhibited.
The evening started with a Formal Speech, “The Street of Support”, by Callie Oxford. Then Shelby Pribble entertained the room with her Formal Speech, “Amazing Horses”. Kenna Sisney put together a beautiful purple and pink spring flower arrangement as her demonstration. Following Kenna, Maddy Sisney sang “Welcome to the Black Parade”. Wyatt Arnold finished the demonstrations with “How to Make an Extension Cord”.
The 4-H Public Presentations Contest also includes Food Demonstrations. Our Food Demonstrators this year were Kenna Sisney with Apple Pie Pizza and Lillian Siler with Fried Ice Cream. The judge and crowd all agreed that these dishes were delicious.
All of the exhibitors received blue ribbons. Both Callie Oxford and Shelby Pribble received State Fair ribbons and can advance to the State 4-H Public Speaking Contest in Decatur on June 8, 2019. Wyatt Arnold received the County Champion ribbon for his Demonstration and Kenna Sisney received the County Champion ribbon for her Flower Arranging Demonstration.
Lillian Siler was chosen as the Top Food Demonstrator at the contest. Lillian also received the Food Demonstration County Champion ribbon.
We would like to thank Alex Watkins and Jody Moore for taking time out of their evening to judge our 4-H Public Presentations Contest.
And, we would like to thank the staff and residents of The Villas of Holly Brook for extending such a warm welcome to Saline County 4-H.
