Deborah Jo “Debby” Carney, 68, of New Haven passed away from this life peacefully on September 26, at her home surrounded by family. Debby was born in New Haven to Joe and Margie (Clifford) Mobley on May 3, 1950. She graduated New Haven Grade School and Ridgway High School. She married Glen Carney on June 18, 1968. They celebrated 50 happy years of marriage this year. Debby was a Medical Office Assistant at Dr. Sutton’s office in Mount Vernon, IN, retiring after 13 years. Debby was a licensed cosmetologist; she had a passion for photography and riding with Glen on the Harley. Debby was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawneetown.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; her mother, Margie; 2 sons, Alex (Amber) Carney of Carmi and Adam (Leslie) Carney of New Haven; her mother in law, Irene Carney, 5 grandchildren, Lexa, Liza, Levi Carney, and Aden and Jaxon Carney; one step-grandson, Walker Roser; one neice, Karen (Quentin) Braselton; two nephews, Paul (Karen) Mobley, and D.R. (Kelsey) Mobley; one great-nephew, and 3 great-neices. Debby was preceded in death by her father, Joe Mobley, her brother, David Mobley, Sr., and a grandson, Eli Carney. .
Visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cox & Son Funeral Home in New Haven with the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Union Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Jack Hall and Rev. Donnie Mobley will officiate.
