Harrisburg Rotary Celebrates 100 Years 4-24-18

A special 100 year celebration of the Harrisburg Rotary was held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Morello’s Pizza & Grill. Past President 2015-2017, Angela Rowe, gave a history including that Harrisburg Rotary has sponsored twenty clubs. Three of those clubs present were Eldorado, Marion and Mt. Carmel. District Governor Jill Pietrusinski gave a special thanks for Harrisburg sponsoring twenty clubs and for having eight new members. Pietrusinski stated there are 1.2 million Rotarians in the world with the theme of “Rotary Making a Difference”. Special speaker, Laura Carie, District Governor 2016-17 District 6580, stated Rotary is a humanitarian organization that has helped lower polio cases to 18 in 2018 and three countries. Rotary has helped create water wells for safe water for countries abroad.
