Frank Robert Towns, 69, of Golconda, passed away at his home on July 9, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Bob, as he was known, is survived by his wife of 29 years, Bertha (Hogg) Towns; five children, Melissa Towns, Jessica Wiley, Lesli Kluge, Robert “Bobby” Hancock, and Frank Towns; along with eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Vaughn and Nancy Maue; and brothers, John Towns and Ralph Towns; many nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves behind his trusty companion, Brutis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Towns; and brother, James “PeeWee” Towns.
Bob was an Army veteran. He was a member of the Freemasons and a long-time lineman, from which he was enjoying retirement.
As an avid horseman, Bob brought the pleasure of riding to many. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, and helping his family and friends whenever needed. At the mention of his name, many responded, “I think the world of Bob.” Bob will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Join his family in celebrating his life on Friday, July 12, 2019, at Aly Funeral Home, Eddyville. Family will gather at 5:00 PM. Friends and neighbors from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Golconda Masonic Lodge #131.
A Graveside service will be held at the Towns Family Cemetery at War Bluff Camp, Lusk Road, north of Golconda, on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Brother Kevin Richerson will conduct the service. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 719, VFW Post 9227 and Military Honors Team.
