Free Tuition for CNA Classes at SIC this Summer

Southeastern Illinois College will be offering a summer Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) class June 3 to July 25 on the Harrisburg campus. This program is for anyone age 16 or older – a high school diploma or GED are not required.
The class will prepare students to be a part of a nursing team under the supervision of a registered nurse. CNAs assist patients or nursing home residents with basic daily needs and provide bedside care.
Tuition is free, but the student is still responsible for $197 in required fees. Additional expenses during the class will include fingerprinting, clinical uniform and textbook, which may cost around $300.
At the end of the course in July, students will be prepared for the competency exam through SIU-C for certification.
There are many CNA jobs available locally, and students will be ready to enter the workforce after the class and certification test.
