Judith L. “Judy” Parish, age 79, of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:31 AM Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 3, 1940 in Saline County to the late Theodore and Mable Jane (Ozee) Pickering. On June 30, 1956 she married James W. Parish and he survives. Judy worked for the Illinois Secretary of State for over 30 years. She was an avid Cardinals fan, loved the outdoors and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her dogs, Bella and Dory. Judy was a lifelong Republican and an avid Trump supporter.
In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by 2 daughters: Jamie Parish of Harrisburg and Stacey Milligan and husband Randy of Harrisburg; 5 grandchildren: Amberlea Ollis and husband Jeremy of Marion, IL; Linsay Wood and husband Matt of Ledbetter, KY; Mason Milligan and wife Erin of Lexington, SC; James Dallas Walker of Brookport, IL; and Matthew Milligan of Harrisburg. 4 Great-grandchildren: Sabation Fasolo of Harrisburg; Xander Fasolo of Ledbetter, KY; Harlea Hull of Ledbetter, KY; and Skylynne Walker of Harrisburg. 1 sister-in-law: Peggy Pickering of Harrisburg and special friends Jeff, Paula and Justin Fulkerson of Harrisburg along with several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers: Billie Pickering, Joseph F. Pickering and Donald Pickering.
Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, with Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 AM to 2 PM Saturday at Reed Funeral Chapel.
