CARRIER MILLS MAN RECEIVES 6 YEAR PRISON SENTENCE ON FIREARMS CHARGES
On April 30, 2018, Clayton D. Nolen, age 24, of Carrier Mills, Illinois entered a plea of guilty in Saline County, Illinois Circuit Court to Aggravated Possession of Stolen Firearms (a Class 1 felony). Judge Walden E. Morris sentenced Nolen to 6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with 2 years mandatory supervised release on the charge, which was Nolen’s first felony conviction.
The charge against Nolen arose out of an incident in which Nolen was found in possession of several stolen firearms and when Nolen knew those firearms had been stolen. The investigation of Nolen’s case was led by Special Agent Stacy Kinter of the Illinois State Police. Assistant State’s Attorney, Jason Olson, led the successful prosecution of Nolen.
