Saline County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

HARRISBURG, ILL. – At 2:15 am Friday morning Saline County Central Dispatch received a
report of a subject’s vehicle being stolen from his driveway in Mitchellsville. The vehicle was last seen heading north on Illinois Highway 145.

Saline County Deputy Lindsay Jones, spotted the vehicle on Walnut Grove Road off of Illinois Highway 145, where the driver of the stolen vehicle took off in a high rate of speed towards Carrier Mills.  The pursuit ended when the driver bailed out of the vehicle near a residence on Town Park Road north of Carrier Mills. The driver was later taken into custody and identified as Elijah D. Fulton, 18, of Jeffersonville, Illinois.

Preliminary charges include:
– Aggravated Fleeing To Elude
– Aggravated Vehicle Theft
– Criminal Damage To Property
– Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Firearm
– No Valid Firearm Owners Identification

The case is still under investigation by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office was assisted with the case by the Carrier Mills Police
Department, Harrisburg Police Department and the Illinois State Police.
