Saline County 4-H General Show Results
The Saline County 4-H General Show was held on Saturday, July 15, at Dorrisville Baptist Church. 4-H members showed their talents to the judges as they exhibited a wide variety of projects.
4-H Cloverbuds (youth ages 5-7) came out in force to show the judge their projects. Cloverbuds participating this year were: Garrett Arnold, Cayden Baird, Abigail Draper, Andrew Grizzell, Noah Jones, Alice Miller, Jocelyn Oxford, McKenna Sisney, Caroline Tanner, and Elliot Tanner.
County Champion ribbons were awarded to Devin Carlile (Ag General), Hannah Haney (A Job For Me), Robert Duncan (Collections – Coins), Ryan Boulds (Collections – Hobby), Madison Sisney (Communications I), Callie Oxford (Community Service, Local Government, and Welcome to the Real World), Alex Watkins (Entrepreneurship), Chloe Hopkins (Journalism), Zane Carlile (Sports – General), and Rachel Lands (Weather).
There are many popular projects for youth interested in Natural Resources and Animals. In the Animal Science class, a State Fair ribbon was awarded to Grayson Rann (Animal Science – Beef) and a State Fair Alternate ribbon was awarded to Hannah Haney (Animal Science – Dog). Hannah Haney received a State Fair ribbon in Animal Science Ready for Life Challenge for her Beef display. In the Veterinary Science class, a State Fair ribbon went to Shelby Pribble and a State Fair Alternate ribbon went to Jaci Wood.
State Fair Honors were awarded to Sierra Wilson (Entomology 2), Robert Duncan (Entomology 1 and Geology – Pebble Pups 1), Gavin McGee (Entomology – Beekeeping 1), Zachary Oxford (Geology – Pebble Pups 1) and Drake Wilson (Forestry 1). A State Fair Alternate ribbon was awarded to Rachel Lands (Entomology Display).
A State Fair ribbon was awarded to Madison Sisney (Passport to the World – Individual) and a State Fair Alternate ribbon went to Callie Oxford in the same class.
In the Mechanical Sciences and Wood Sciences, State Fair ribbons were awarded to Rachel Lands (Aerospace Display, Electricity 2, Tractor C, and Welding), Loren Pribble (Electricity 3 and Welding), Madison Sisney (Tractor A), Joselyn Bender (Woodworking 2), and Courtney Boulds (Woodworking 1). State Fair Alternate ribbons were awarded to Joel Glenn (Woodworking 4), Wyatt Arnold (Woodworking 1) and David Heath (Welding).
Earning State Fair honors for Horticulture and Floriculture projects this year were: Haylee Brown (Floriculture A and Vegetable Display), Rachel Lands (Floriculture Display), and Loren Pribble (Vegetable Plate). State Fair Alternate ribbons went to Wyatt Arnold (Vegetable Plate) and Zane Carlile (Vegetable Display).
State Fair ribbons for Photography and Videography were awarded to Chloe Hopkins (Photography 3), Haylee Brown (Photography 1), Adrienne Poore (Photography 1), Lillian Siler (Photography 1) and Nathan Jean (Animated Video). State Fair Alternate ribbons went to CharAnn Elliott (Photography 2), Emma Carlile (Photography 1), and Jaci Wood (Photography 1).
State Fair ribbons for Visual Arts were awarded to Christian Jean (Chalk/Carbon/Pigment), Rachel Myers (Chalk/Carbon/Pigment), Sierra Wilson (Clay and 3D/Mixed Media), Emma Carlile (Glass/Plastic), Shelby Pribble (Heritage Arts), Grayson Rann (Metal), Drake Wilson (Nature), Luke Barton (Paper), and Joselyn Bender (Scrapbooking).
Visual Arts State Fair Alternate ribbon winners were Tyler Butler (Chalk/Carbon/Pigment), Courtney Boulds (Chalk/Carbon/Pigment), Lillian Siler (Clay), Jason Adams (Heritage Arts), Wyatt Arnold (Metal), Abigail McGee (Nature), Isaiah Howell (Paper), Jessica Tuttle, (Scrapbooking), and Chloe Hopkins (3D/Mixed Media).
The Dorrisville Baptist Church for provided the location for our General Show and numerous volunteers served as judges and assistants
