Saline County 4-H Federation Meets
The Saline County 4-H Federation held a business meeting on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. at the Extension Office.  Discussing Cosmic Bowling, the annual 4-H Rally, and National Night.
The 4-H Federation is made up of youth representatives from each Saline County 4-H club.  These representatives meet monthly to socialize and to plan county-wide 4-H and community service events.  All delegates from each club as well as any other Saline County 4-H members are welcome to attend.
Please plan to join us at the next Federation meeting and bring a finger food or dessert to share with all.  See you there!
Management Committee to Hold Business Meeting
The Saline County 4-H Management Committee held a meeting on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Extension office.  All Management Committee members (newly appointed members from each club) and Federation officers (the youth representation on this committee) were encouraged to attend this important meeting.
The Management Committee meetings and all Saline County 4-H meetings are open to all 4-H youth and adult members and to the public.
Agenda items included electing officers, discussing any changes to the 4-H Handbook, approving changes made by the Livestock Committee, and looking ahead to the 2017 Saline County 4-H Show and events schedule.
4-H Handbook Cover Contest
It is time to begin thinking about your entry for the 2017 4-H Handbook Cover Contest.  The contest is open to all Saline County 4-H members.  Entries must be turned in to the Extension office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017.  The entry rules are:
1. Submit original design on white paper only (8 X 11 inches).
2. Leave 1-inch margins on all sides.
3. Use ONLY black ink or black marker.
4. Use the words “Saline County 4-H” and the year “2017” somewhere on the design.
5. Put your name on the front of your entry.
6. Entry should reflect 4-H in Saline County.
7. If you want to use a clover in your design, we request that you use the official 4-H emblem.  Contact the Extension office and we will print out a 4-H clover for your use.
8. One entry per 4-H member may be submitted.
9. Only entries received by the deadline will be considered.
Please include your name, club, and age with your entry.  Remember, not only will the winning design be the cover of our Saline County 4-H Handbook, the winner will receive a monetary prize to be awarded at Achievement Night in October.  Good Luck!
