The Harrisburg Rotary held their weekly luncheon meeting on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Ponderosa. Program Chairperson Michael Tisons guest was Sara Bond. Bond and her daughters Lauren and Alexa are the only 100% woman owned treating facility (Perma Treat) in the nation. Perma Treat of IL provides treated utility poles to the electrical and telecommunications industries and are a supplier of railway ties. Bonds main passion tho is being founder of Night’s Shield Children’s Shelter that was started in 2009. Night’s Shield is located in West Frankfort in a 15,000 square foot facility that handles 14 children. One of the main purposes is to keep sibling families together. In the seven years of existence, 14,000 children have been at the facility for 13,000 nights. Shown in photo are President Angela Rowe, Sara Bond and Michael Tison.
